Embodiment of Polk Street Original

Title: ‘Embodiment of Polk Street’ Type: Original Media: Oil over Acrylic Size: 16W” x 20L” x  2″ Deep Ground: Gallery Wrapped Canvas Michelle’s body creates a narrative vision and the Fisk Building connects her to a regional cityscape. I titled the piece ‘Embodiment of the Polk Street’ because The female’s body is a reincarnation of the historic Fisk building located in Amarillo, Texas. By challenging the figure-ground relationship, my research demonstrates that inversion collaborates with the inclusion of an urban landscape by removing the image around the area of the model, which fuses the figure into a new form.  Like this:Like Loading…
