PCS is ideal for use on Hardwood Floors, Cabinets, Interior Walls and other Interior Wood surfaces. PCS Clear Shield can be applied over Prelude and Lifeline Interior and is significantly more affordable and durable than other clear wood finishes offered by this or other manufacturers. Features Fast Drying Cleans up with Soap and Water Resistant to Moisture and UV Damage Low Odor and Low VOC’s Scuff Resistant Low Maintenance Application Instructions STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION Wood surfaces must be dry, clean, and properly prepared before application. Remove all oil, grease, wax, dirt, and dust For best results, wipe the entire surface with a clean rag prior to application If an oil-based stain has been applied: Allow it to dry for at least 3 weeks Wipe down with a clean cloth before applying PCS Clear Shield Do not apply to: Green logs Wood with moisture content above 20% Interior Walls, Cabinets, and Trim: First apply LIFELINE™ Interior Stain or Prelude Clear Wood Primer Once dry to the touch, apply the first coat of PCS Clear Shield Recommended Application Equipment: Synthetic bristle brush Foam brush Applicator pad Do NOT use: Rollers or applicators that may trap air in the finish STEP 2: APPLICATION Mixing: Gently stir with a paint paddle before use Do not shake or aggressively agitate (this can create foam and air bubbles) Do not dilute with water or any solvent Do not tint Continue to stir during use Application Technique: Apply using smooth, even strokes Follow the direction of the wood grain Work on 1–2 boards at a time Stop at natural breaks (joints, walls, doorways) to prevent lap marks Between Coats: Allow the first coat to dry to the touch (1–2 hours) Lightly sand using: 180 grit or finer sandpaper, or A buffing brush Avoid generating excess heat during sanding Do not use steel wool Sanding between additional coats is not recommended Number of Coats: For new or worn wood floors: Apply a minimum of 3 coats Additional coats will increase luster and depth STEP 3: CLEANUP Wash hands and tools with soap and warm water immediately after use STEP 4: DRYING TIME Dries to the touch in 1–2 hours Allow approximately 12 hours before light traffic Avoid placing rugs or moving furniture for about 1 week Full cure hardness develops in 1–2 weeks STEP 5: ESTIMATED COVERAGE Approximately 400–600 sq ft per gallon First coat coverage may be reduced on: Older or more porous wood Using LIFELINE stain or Prelude Primer on bare surfaces: Can improve overall coverage Safety Data Sheets Click here for PCS GLOSS’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Click here for PCS MATTE’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
