Description Sinquefield Cup Bone Chessmen. Offered here is a set of the Sinquefield Cup Bone Chessmen. The chess pieces are part of the Collector Series and are fabricated from natural and black stained Camel bone The King stands 4-0 tall with a 1-5/8″ diameter base. The original Collector Series Chessmen were designed in 1996 and copyrighted by Frank Camaratta. This set is the bone version of the Imperial Collector Chessmen used exclusively in the World-Famous Sinquefield Cup Tournaments and U.S. Invitational Championships. These Sinquefield Cup Bone Chessmen are produced by and sold exclusively through Frank Camaratta and housed in the lined and divided Mahogany hinge-top box shown. These chess pieces play and display best on a chessboard with either 2-1/4″ or 2-3/8″: squares. No chessboard is included. Our extensive selection of antique and modern chessboards can be found here. Some History. The House of Staunton was founded in 1993 and incorporated in 1999. When building the House of Staunton, our vision was to create a set of chessmen that captured the feel and exquisite old-World craftsmanship found in those early Jaques Staunton pattern chess sets.  In line with that pursuit, we concentrated on recreating the masterful workmanship of the Bishops and the Knights which were derived from the noble steeds whose visages are captured in the Parthenon frieze (expropriated in 1806 by Thomas Bruce, 7th Lord of Elgin and since referred to as the Elgin Marbles). We also wanted to retain the graceful proportional relationship among the pieces and Pawns. We hope we have been somewhat successful in that pursuit.
